We believe in simple and pure devotion to Jesus Christ, our Lord...
...In teaching.
God has spoken to man through the ages. His life-giving words are recorded in the Bible. He kindly provides a "lamp for our feet, and a light for our path." As a result, our teaching is focused on God's Word, which nourishes our hearts and brings us great joy. We encourage you to discover this great treasure with us.
One of the great treasures that our loving heavenly Father has given us is His Word, the Bible. It is a precious gift from a loving God to the people that He has called His own. In it, we find the way to life, a "lamp for our feet, and a light for our path." (Psalm 119:105) We teach this word on Sunday mornings and in the house church. We encourage everyone to read it, study it, and meditate on it. As we immerse ourselves in His word, we come to know God better. We also come to better know ourselves, His plan for us, what He longs to give us, and how He desires that we live. Below are a list of passages from the Bible speaking about the Bible, its value, and its importance. Read them yourself, to see what our loving, heavenly Father wishes to give to each of us.
SALVATION: 2 Timothy 3:14-17. [From a letter by Saint Paul to his friend and student, Timothy] You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. NASB95
JOY: John 15:11. "These things I [Jesus] have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full." NASB95
HOPE: Romans 15:4. For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. NASB95
LIFE: Matthew 4:4. But He [Jesus] answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' " NASB95
FAITH: Romans 10:17. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. NASB95
SPIRITUAL PROSPERITY: Joshua 1:8. [This was spoken by Joshua to the nation of Israel, God's chosen people] "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success." NASB95
PURITY: Psalm 119:9,10. How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. NASB95
LOVE FROM JESUS: John 14:21. [Jesus speaking] "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." NASB95
BLESSING: Psalm 1:1,2. How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. NASB95
GUIDANCE: Psalm 119:105. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. NASB95
THE BIBLE, OUR TUTOR: Galatians 3:24. Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. NASB95
SOME PASSAGES THAT SPEAK TO THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WORD: Acts 5:42-6:4. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. Now at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables. "Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. "But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word." NASB95
Acts 17:10-12. The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men. NASB95
Psalm 119:9-16 [Synonyms for the Bible: word, commandments, statutes, ordinances, testimonies, precepts.] 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. 10 With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. 11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. 12 Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. 13 With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. 16 I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word. NASB95
Colossians 3:16. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. NASB95
Hebrews 4:12. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. NASB95
